Even though Satan afflicts God's people with his power and presence, he knows he has already lost the war to Christ.
Revelation 20:10 "And the devil, who decieved them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophets are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever"
